Pandemic Resilient School Award
On Feb 12TH our school received a Gold Ribbon Award from the Children at Risk Foundation. We were one of only four schools that made the list for central Texas. To put that in perspective, other regions each had ten schools make the list.
Congratulations, 22-23 Teacher of the Year, Ms. Maldonado!
Help us congratulate our 22-23 Teacher of the Year, Ms. Maldonado! 🎉 She is an amazing educator and supports our campus in so many ways! We’re so glad to have her as part of our team!
Jackets from the Junior League of Austin
Last week, the Junior League of Austin graciously delivered some free jackets for the majority of our students. Unfortunately, due to the low number of donations they received this year and the high number of jackets requested, they were not able to send enough jackets for all of our 4th and 5th grade students.
Prime Time classes / Las clases de Prime Time
Tuesday, December 13th will be the last day for the afternoon Prime Time classes for this semester. The morning classes will continue through Friday, December 16th. When we return in January, we will have a new schedule of classes that will be offered. More information will be sent home in January.
The new bus has just arrived / *Acaba de llegar el nuevo autobús.
The replacement bus just arrived at school. Students are loading the new bus now. *The Lion bus, #1414, is still at Guerrero Thompson. The bus had mechanical issues and they are sending a replacement bus.
Safety / Seguridad
Parents, to ensure everyone’s safety and to let the traffic continue flowing, please remain in your vehicles, even though it is raining during dismissal! We will do our best to load the children quickly and safely!
Junior League of Austin: Free Shoes for K-3rd
We are very excited to announce that the Junior League of Austin will be on campus tomorrow to distribute a free pair of shoes for every student in grades Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade.
Front Playground Closed Until Further Notice. / Parque cerrado hasta nuevo aviso.
Due to the large turnout of people/cars, their car line stretches into our parking lot while people wait for the food. Several of the people who are waiting in their car lines are now letting their large dogs run loose in our playground. We have asked them to keep their dogs in their cars, but many are still letting their dogs run free while they wait for their turn in the food line.

Monday, October 24th - Monday, October 31st. Love Your Brain by moving your body, exercising and drinking plenty of water! Wear your favorite exercise clothes and tennis shoes!

No Classes for Students
Friday, October 14th is a Professional Development Day for teachers & staff in Austin ISD. There will be no classes for students on this day.
